The ways in which you can use social media to grow your business or personal brand are truly endless. So when Nick Rosener of Tech Nicks Tips, a social media marketing blog, asked marketers the question “What is your single greatest, amazing, unique, social media tip?” we had to stop and think for a minute.

We thought about all of the tips, hacks, and tricks we have encountered while working with entrepreneurs and small business. While those are good, we felt that one of the most basic yet most powerful tips in using social media that often gets overlooked is to use social media to build up others. This is the tip we shared with Nick and his readers.

The Currency of “Thank You:” Use social media to embrace the currency of “thank you” and help others feel appreciated and recognized. Raise up others in the social spotlight by acknowledging their accomplishments in your status updates and tagging them. You’ll be amazed at the positive impact and response this simple act of kindness creates.
